Our story
One look in the supermarket...
... All I could see was the single use plastic wrapping. Thrown out second after purchase
... I started making my own products so simply in reusable containers, that didn't include all the preservatives and nasty ingredients! I also started exploring soap making and loved it!
...I had to share this with my friends and family. Seeing change one person at a time- even if it was just saving a few boxes and a plastic bag.
... In December 2020, I decided to start selling my soap so that others can start benefiting from this way of living too!- and at an affordable cost, while donating 15% of my profits toward Ocean Cleanup. Living healthy and with low-impact should be accessible to everyone.
... but that's not the byDanae you see today...
... After some overseas travel and experience with community development, I saw the great injustices of poverty and displacement in the world. What can we do to change this? Empowering individuals- giving the opportunity, resources and dignity to provide a sustainable way of living.
... give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish and you'll feed him for a lifetime
... this greatly impacted me.
... while still focusing on environmental impact, affordability and accessibility, byDanae has introduced donating 25% towards Compassion Canada, an organization that funds education to women in developing countries to build skills and start businesses.
... I am still overjoyed that every order, helps those in need, cares for our earthly environment, and is accessible to all.
... I started this business with soap, but I hope one day to expand further to selling other peoples products who find themselves in a hard place, giving them a hand up, with your help. For now, let's help our neighbours and the organization that help those in need.
... I am so grateful for this opportunity to share my passion, and I am very appreciative of your support and the change that you are bringing!
